Daniel Benn Photography

Daniel Benn is an award-winning, Montréal-based travel photographer. His love and passion for photography began shortly after retiring as the C.E.O of a Canadian software company.

Having spent years designing and building software, he looked for a new creative outlet and found it in the complexity and beauty of the world that surrounds us. With a passion for travel, new encounters, people and storytelling, his camera soon became a new conduit for his creativity.

For Daniel, that which is in front of us can be far more fascinating than anything made up or imagined. For him, a good photo captures experiences and a great photo is like a painting – strong enough to hang on the wall and with the staying power to make you stop and say “wow” every time.

To create that impact, he looks to find and photograph those real moments and scenes that expose the beautiful story of a person, place, or creature that he encounters on his travels or within his day-to-day life.

Join him as he continues to paint the world, one pixel at a time.

Personal Interests

Beyond a photographer, Daniel is also a "foodie" with a love of travel, fishing, physics, biology, genetics, evolution, cosmology, great literature, philosophy, and history. He might have the personality of an extrovert, but definitely the soul of a geek!
